OUR TEAM
Red Comet Racing is a STEM racing team composed of young, ambitious, and innovative students at ESF Discovery College, a secondary school in Hong Kong. We come from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds, but are brought together by our passion for racing and determination to excel in competitive settings. The current members of our team are Ian Ho (Team principal), Yuvan Sai Pasupathy (Design engineer), Benjamin Saavedra (Production engineer), Daniel Cheung (Design Specialist), Mahirr Uppal (Head of Finance), and Aryaman Kumar (Head of Communications).
The 2026 STEM racing season represents our team’s first entry into the exciting competition, with the hope of creating a competitive entry that can challenge the leaders of the pack. With our enthusiasm and competitive spirit driving us forward, we hope to produce a cutting-edge ambitious design, to cement ourselves as frontrunners as well as break the barriers of what is possible in the field of motorsport engineering.
STEM RACING
"WF24-Fernando-9" - Off The Track Media
STEM Racing (formerly F1 in Schools) is a prestigious and internationally-recognized STEM competition that has been endorsed by the FIA Formula One World Championship. Involving the design and development of a miniature F1 car model by a group of young engineers, STEM racing allows for young, ambitious students to unleash their creativity, and put their skills to the test in order to produce a race-winning prototype. Alongside design and creative thinking skills, participants also develop their marketing and teamwork skills, building up brand exposure and working around a tight schedule to ensure a team’s success.

For Red Comet Racing, this competition marks a significant opportunity for us to show our passion and love for motorsport while producing a competitive and groundbreaking design that complements our hard work and innovation in the field. We strive to not only develop our own skills and knowledge, but to also work with like-minded competitors to foster a competitive, yet constructive learning environment and experience.
